He died peacefully at home in South Shields, surrounded by his family, on May 30, 2024, at the age of 80. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife Gloria, who met him on July 6, 1965, and twin daughters Barbara and Deborah, who loved him so much. All his grandchildren will sadly miss him. He has three grandsons, Christian Walker, Cameron Whittle, and Aaron Whittle, one granddaughter, Samantha Prior (nee Walker), the eldest grandchild, and one great-grandchild, Ivy Prior.

Please send family flowers only. We are deeply grateful for any donations made to the Marie Curie Foundation, a cause close to Eddie’s heart. These donations will help provide care and support to terminally ill patients and their families, a cause Eddie was passionate about. All donations may be received at the crematorium. Because The Marie Curie nurses were a wonderful support to us during this time.

Following the service, please join us for the wake, a time for sharing memories and celebrating Eddie’s life. The wake is being held at the Whitburn Golf Club, a place Eddie loved, located at Lizard Lane, South Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE 34 7AF.
